Caring for your furniture

Are you looking to keep your furniture in perfect condition? Look no further, we have put together this guide to help you!

Wood & Veneer

Sun damage

These two materials are both very sensitive to light. We would recommend that you avoid leaving anything on the surfaces for the first 6-8 weeks if they are exposed to sunlight. This will help to avoid any rings or marks appearing if your furniture lightens in the sun.

Cleaning

damp cloth is the best way to clean your wooden furniture but please make sure you dry the surfaces thoroughly afterwards. Wood and veneer furniture can be damaged by liquids, so if you spill anything on it make sure you wipe it dry straight away. If you need to remove any stains gently use mild soap and warm water.

Leather

Sun and heat damage

Leather will lighten if it is exposed to direct sunlight - keep this in mind when choosing where you are placing it if you wish to avoid this. Leather can also be damaged when exposed to heat so make sure it's not too close to any radiators.

Cleaning

To clean leather you can use a soft, dry cloth or a cloth and soapy water for a bit more elbow grease. To keep your leather at its best, we recommend cleaning regularly with a leather cleaner.

Upholstery

Sun damage

Upholstered furniture will lighten over time if exposed to direct sunlight - keep this in mind when choosing where to place your furniture.

Wear

To keep seat cushions looking their best and to ensure they wear evenly, regularly turn them. Give foam, feather or fibre filled cushions a shake as often as you can to help them hold their shape.

Feet

Make sure the feet on your chair/sofa are tightly fastened. Avoid dragging them to ensure you do not damage the feet or your floor.
